Check it out — it’ll be fun! Here’s the chat room link.  I’ll open comments to this post when the chat starts, and guess what:  the third (non-spam) commenter will win a copy of Mirror Blue in e-book (.pdf) format.

Hmmm, It’s 3 am here now.
I’m still wondering about your title choice. Is there a literal blue mirror factoring in the story, or is it figuratively referring to a depression of sorts?

btw-I’m currently (making slow progress due to other job) working on a story to do with mirrors in general, in relation with a type of psychosois, altho it isin’t classified as a romance.

I understand from the Funster this is not a “romance” but a Literary piece.

In your opinion what is the difference besides the, sometimes, too vivid love scenes?

Hi, SnaggleTooth! 3 a.m. — a fellow night owl. :) I got Mirror Blue‘s title from “The Lady of Shallott” by Tennyson. The idea for the story developed as I listened to Loreena McKennitt’s lovely musical rendition of the poem. Here’s the context in which Mirror Blue appears in the poem:

“And sometimes thro’ the mirror blue
The knights come riding two and two:
She hath no loyal knight and true,
    The Lady of Shalott.”

Hi, Paige! Welcome to my blog — thanks for visiting and commenting! The difference between the two, to my mind, is genre conventions. Romance, as a genre, has a number of conventions that must be adhered to in the story, such as the romance being the biggest part of the plot, and usually an ending of the Uncomplicated Happily Ever After sort. Black Lyon published Mirror Blue as a literary love story, and some people might think of it as women’s fiction, and though it’s a love story, it differs from genre romance in several ways. Not saying there’s anything wrong with genre romance or any type of genre — they’re different kind of stories with varying emphasis which are told in different ways.

Hmmm, looks like I’m my own third commenter. If somebody comments after me, they’ll win a copy of Mirror Blue in ebook format.
