And I have little purple flowers to back me up, *grin*!

The tadpoles continue to develop. Check them out: they have pointy little tails!

And here’s something you don’t see every day: an acorn sprouting in a stream.

Behold: a nifty green fungus.

“Very Early Spring” ~Katherine Mansfield
The fields are snowbound no longer;
There are little blue lakes and flags of tenderest green.
The snow has been caught up into the sky–
So many white clouds–and the blue of the sky is cold.
Now the sun walks in the forest,
He touches the bows and stems with his golden fingers;
They shiver, and wake from slumber.
Over the barren branches he shakes his yellow curls.
Yet is the forest full of the sound of tears….
A wind dances over the fields.
Shrill and clear the sound of her waking laughter,
Yet the little blue lakes tremble
And the flags of tenderest green bend and quiver.

Rewrites on Patchwork Stained Glass are coming along slowly. I need to make more time to write. I’ve been letting other things overwhelm me — the days zip by so fast, and I’ve been finding it difficult to let go and immerse myself in my fictional worlds.
Among many other things I’m working on, I’ve been trying to figure out how to put images in my sidebar on this new WordPress blog (before this, I used Blogger), but I’m not having any luck.
My specific problem: I can add an image with the WordPress text widget (in which I use html for “image source”), but when I do so, the image wipes out everything else in my sidebar. I thought the image might be too big, so I sized it very small, but the same thing happened: nothing in my sidebar but the image.
Surely there’s a way in WordPress for images to coexist peacefully with links, etc. in a sidebar. I see it on countless other WordPress blogs.
So, WordPress gurus: what am I doing wrong? Can anybody help, or point me in the right direction?
Never mind! I’m figuring it out, *grin*!
If anybody reading this post is experiencing the same problem, all you have to do is add your other widgets back (links, archives, categories, search function, etc.) after you’ve put in your new text widget (in which you put the code for your images).
The text widget is powerful, especially if you’re handy with html. You can format your images, links, and text exactly the way you want. And you can add scripts, too.
Go WordPress!

Thomma Lyn, good morning, anf happy Spring,((my friend)). I need more caffeine to figure ot this widget thing. : D
Cool fungus!
I knew you’d dig WordPress…
I love your sense of spring. And I thank the faeries for letting you photograph their green fungus altar.
I love the pics, especially the tadpoles and the flowers. What kind of flowers are they?
BTW, the sidebar box is now overlaying the comment box, so I’m having to type blind. Can’t see if I’m making spelling errors or not. You may want to check it out.
That fungus is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen! The tadpole pics are great too. I feel like an expectant parent, proudly watching them all develop.
I don’t know about the widget thing, but your blog looks great to me!
Hi, Kimmi! Happy Spring to you — ((((((hugs)))))))! And interesting you mention caffeine. I’ve got a full mug of coffee here on my desk!
hehe, Susan, I love funky fungi. And yup, WordPress and I are getting along great! There’s more of a learning curve with WP than with Blogger, but it’s worth it for the increased flexibility and stability.
Thanks, Leah! And how delightful, the fungus as a faerie altar.
Bunnygirl, thanks for letting me know that the sidebar box and the comment box looks wonky for you! I resized one of the images. Hopefully that will fix the problem. I don’t know what kind of flowers those are — they’re so pretty and they grow there every Spring, but I think of them as “the little purple flowers.” Need to find out what they are!
hehe, Denise, your comment about the tadpoles was adorable.
It’s so much fun to watch them grow. I’m hoping they get plenty of rain today and tomorrow!
I come here for replenishment from my lost childhood.
Squirrel, I have a tear in my eye, and if I could, I’d give you a hug. Sending a big virtual one. Extra warm and fuzzy. With lots of kitty hairs. And you know how much I love cats.
I’ll help you with the widget thing, if you still can’t figure it out!!! Just a bit of code to put in, had to learn it myself.
Hi, Jannie! Thanks, I really appreciate it. I think I’ve got it figured out, but if I run into any snags, I’ll holler.
Love the pictures, love the poem. I can’t wait to have a full blown spring here. It seems like it’s taking so long this year.
Yay! on your figuring out your sidebar problem. Although, I have now idea what your talking about. I like the simple, everything done for me by clicking the mouse, blogger. Simple, that’s me.
Hugsabunches…D
Thomma Lyn, you are helping me endure a busy season with far fewer walks than I need. Thanks!
Thanks, Dorothy! Hang in there, KS — Spring is coming your way soon. Sorry it’s kind of slow! And yeah, I’m tickled about figuring out the sidebar problem. Among other things, I want to be able to post a picture of my book’s cover there when it’s available.
Hi, Wayne! You’re more than welcome, and thanks for your kind words.
Wow, what wonderful coloured fungi! Great to see how the tadpoles are doing, soon they will be little frogs heading off into the sunset.lol
I can’t wait to see your bookcover, Thomma Lyn.
Best wishes & (((Hugs)))

Hi, Annie! Thanks so much, my friend, and I love the image of little frogs heading off into the sunset.
Yeah, I’m excited about the book cover! Was emailing about that with my publisher just yesterday.
((((((((hugs))))))))) and best wishes to you and Orocarni from Grendel and me.
Great pics, TL. Especially the one of the FUNGUS!!!
